STAFF SPOTLIGHT: LEWHAT PETROS

You’re now a PCC employee, can you tell us your role and what you’ll be doing?
As a supervising social worker, my role revolves around supporting foster carers throughout their journey in caring for foster children. The tasks are diverse, ranging from mandatory responsibilities like facilitating school and medical registrations to providing emotional and mental support. Each day presents unique challenges, but the common thread is ensuring the well-being of the child is at the forefront of every interaction. I also collaborate with team members for monthly check-ins on staff well-being.

What are you looking forward to in your role and what are your reflections so far?
I look forward to building strong partnerships with foster carers to enhance support for them and the children in their care.

Favourite TV programme or film:
I love CSI and also enjoy true crime documentaries.

Who is your favorite musician at the moment?
Currently, my favorite musician is J Cole. I’m not very big on discovering new music, and I still enjoy J Cole’s 2013 album, “Born Sinner.”

If you weren’t doing this job, what profession would you be in?
If not in this role, I envision myself working in mental health or supporting children.

Something you would like to see different in your work?
In the field of social work, I would love to see more emphasis on mental health support.

Any PCC stories so far?
While my journey with PCC is still in its early stages, I’m looking forward to creating meaningful stories through our shared commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of foster children and their caregivers.
