Carers Need Urgently
There is a desperate need for foster carers across the UK and at PCC we have seen a growth in the need for foster carers that will provide a supportive environment for parents and children, where the parent needs to undergo a parenting assessment.
Currently, 45% of our placements are parents and babies. Parent and Child placements, mainly babies, are needed for a variety of reasons. It may be because the parent has not experienced good parenting themselves, or they may be victims of domestic violence. It may be that they are young and do not have a support network or there may be extra needs regarding the parent’s own development. Foster carers are in the unique position of being able to support and teach the parents how to care for their child in a safe and nurturing environment.
